肝细胞生长因子/散射因子 (HGF/SF) 是一种多效性生长因子，可促进增殖、运动、存活和分化。HGF 结合并促进受体酪氨酸激酶 c-MET 的二聚化和活化，并刺激 PI3K/AKT、FAK、JNK 和 ERK1/2 信号传导 (Organ & Tsao)。HGF 在胚胎发生过程中刺激细胞迁移，诱导细胞运动和上皮细胞散射，并调节上皮-间质转化。它是运动神经元的趋化因子，调节感觉神经元、交感神经元、副交感神经元和皮质神经元的发育，以及少突胶质细胞的增殖和神经胶质细胞的发育。此外，HGF 还具有细胞保护作用，并调节肝脏的生长和再生（Nakamura et al.）。

(A) The biological activity of Human Recombinant HGF was tested by its ability to promote the proliferation of 4MBr5 cells. Cell proliferation was measured using a fluorometric assay method. The EC50 is defined as the effective concentration of the growth factor at which cell proliferation is at 50% of maximum. The EC50 in the above example is 7.2 ng/mL.
(B) 5 μg of Human Recombinant HGF was resolved with SDS-PAGE under reducing (+) and non-reducing (-) conditions and visualized by Coomassie Blue staining. Human Recombinant HGF has a predicted molecular mass of 88 - 90 kDa (single chain), 59 - 61 kDa (alpha chain), or 30 - 34 kDa (beta chain).
