白介素33 （IL-33）是IL-1家族的促炎细胞因子。它与ST2受体结合，激活NF-κB和MAPK通路。IL-33在各种组织和器官中的上皮细胞、平滑肌细胞和成纤维细胞，以及静止的嗜碱性细胞、肥大细胞、嗜酸性细胞、天然辅助细胞、2组先天淋巴样细胞、树突状细胞和活化的巨噬细胞中表达(Schmitz et al.; Yasuda et al.)。它通过刺激细胞因子IL-4、IL-5和IL-13的产生，促进过敏性炎症，并刺激宿主防御微生物和病毒感染(Liew; Yasuda et al.)。在中枢神经系统中，IL-33由内皮细胞和星形胶质细胞产生。它诱导小胶质细胞增殖并介导促炎细胞因子的产生（Yasuoka et al.）。

(A) The biological activity of Human Recombinant IL-33 was tested by its ability to promote the proliferation of D10S cells in low serum medium containing no other cytokines. Cell proliferation was measured after 67 hours of culture using a fluorometric assay method. The EC50 is defined as the effective concentration of the growth factor at which cell proliferation is at 50% of maximum. The EC50 in the above example is 0.1 - 0.15 ng/mL.
(B) 1 μg of Human Recombinant IL-33 was resolved with SDS-PAGE under reducing (+) and non-reducing (-) conditions and visualized by Coomassie Blue staining. Human Recombinant IL-33 has a predicted molecular mass of 18.1 kDa.
