Identification of Human Neural Stem and Progenitor Cells Derived from Pluripotent Cells

STEMCELL Technologies offers specific staining reagents, and , for identifying human neural cells derived from embryonic stem (ES) or induced pluripotent (iPS) cells. The cells can be fluorescently labeled and analyzed using flow cytometry or microscopy.

NeuroFluor™ CDr3 () labels live pluripotent stem cell-derived neural progenitor cells. NeuroFluor™ CDr3 is a membrane-permeable fluorescent probe that selectively binds to the fatty acid binding protein 7 (FABP7). NeuroFluor™ CDr3 allows cells to be visualized using fluorescent imaging, quantified using flow cytometry and isolated using FACS.

STEMdiff™ Human Neural Progenitor Antibody Panel () is suitable for immunocytochemical characterization of neural progenitor cells from human embryonic stem (ES) and induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells. The panel provides primary antibodies that are immunoreactive towards marker proteins highly expressed either by neural progenitor cells (Nestin, PAX6, SOX1) or by undifferentiated human ES and iPS cells (OCT4/OCT3). This panel can be used to monitor the generation of neural progenitor cells during differentiation of pluripotent stem cells
