145-2C11抗体识别小鼠T细胞受体（TCR）/CD3复合物的~ 20kda CD3ε亚基，该亚基在循环成熟T细胞和NKT细胞表面表达，在胸腺细胞上呈可变表达。大多数T细胞瘤也表达CD3。CD3复合物由CD3γ、δ、ε、η和ζ亚基组合而成，与TCR非共价结合，参与将抗原识别信号转导到T细胞的胞质中，并调节TCR的细胞表面表达。TCR介导的T细胞激活涉及CD3亚基的胞质尾部，CD3 亚基是结构相关的 1 型跨膜蛋白，属于免疫球蛋白超家族。CD3亚基的突变与多种免疫缺陷疾病有关，包括严重的联合免疫缺陷（SCID）。145-2C11抗体已被用于体外功能学（阻断和激活）实验，并据报导可阻断抗体克隆17A2的结合。145-2C11抗体不推荐用于福尔马林固定、石蜡包埋切片。

该抗体克隆已被验证可用于评估EasySep™试剂盒（包括EasySep™小鼠T细胞分选试剂盒（产品号 #19851）和EasySep™小鼠CD90.2正选试剂盒II（产品号#18951））分选的细胞纯度。
