骨形态发生蛋白2 （BMP-2）是转化生长因子β (TGF-β)超家族的一员。BMP-2是一种二硫连接的同二聚体，作为I型和II型BMP受体复合物的配体，主要激活SMAD1/5/8信号传导（Nohe等人）。BMP-2是一种有效的分化因子，可引导人多能干细胞（hPSCs）分化为各种细胞类型，包括胚胎外内胚层、间充质细胞和软骨细胞（Pera等人）。尽管BMP-2在健康软骨中的表达较低，但其在软骨损伤部位的表达上调（Blaney Davidson等人）。BMP-2在体外诱导骨和软骨形成，并能诱导人间充质干细胞成软骨（Schmitt等人）。

(A) The biological activity of Human Recombinant BMP-2 was tested by its ability to promote alkaline phosphatase production of ATDC-5 cells. Alkaline phosphatase production was measured using a fluorometric assay method. The EC50 is defined as the effective concentration of the growth factor at which alkaline phosphatase production is at 50% of maximum. The EC50 in the above example is 0.09 μg/mL.
(B) 2 μg of Human Recombinant BMP-2 was resolved with SDS-PAGE under reducing (+) and non-reducing (-) conditions and visualized by Coomassie Blue staining. Human Recombinant BMP-2 has a predicted molecular mass of 26 kDa.
