成纤维细胞生长因子（FGF） 9是FGF家族中一个多效性成员。FGF是肝素依赖性的细胞增殖和分化调节因子（Itoh & Ornitz）。FGF-9通过结合FGFR3（IIIb）以及FGFR1、FGFR2和FGFR3受体的 IIIc 剪接变体来传递信号（Santos-Ocampo等；Mohammadi等；Plotnikov等）。在小鼠中，FGF-9的缺失会导致死亡，FGF-9的表达影响骨骼、小脑、肺、心脏、血管系统、消化道和睾丸的发育（Colvin等；Harada等；Lin等）。据报道，在多种人类癌症中FGF-9水平也会发生变化（Leushacke等；Abdel-Rahman等）。

(A) The biological activity of Human Recombinant FGF-9 was tested by its ability to promote the proliferation of 3T3 cells. Cell proliferation was measured using a fluorometric assay method. The EC50 is defined as the effective concentration of the growth factor at which cell proliferation is at 50% of maximum. The EC50 in the example above is less than 2 ng/mL. (B) 2 μg of Human Recombinant FGF-9 was resolved with SDS-PAGE under reducing (+) and non-reducing (-) conditions and visualized by Coomassie Blue staining. Human Recombinant FGF-9 has a predicted molecular mass of 23.4 kDa.
