白介素 17A (IL-17A) 是细胞因子家族的初始成员，该家族成员包括 IL-17B 至 IL-17F。它是一种强效促炎细胞因子，在防御病原体中发挥关键作用。IL-17A 和 IL-17F 以同型二聚体或异型二聚体的形式通过同一受体发出信号，并激活 NF-κB、MAPK 和 C/EBP 通路 (Gaffen)。IL-17A 由 Th17 细胞、CD8+ T 细胞、γ/δ T 细胞、自然杀伤 (NK) T 细胞、B 细胞、先天淋巴细胞和间充质基质细胞 (MSC) 产生 (Cua & Tato; Gaffen; Mojsilović et al.)。IL-17A 介导对细胞外病原体的保护，并与 IL-22 共同刺激抗菌肽的产生。它诱导粒细胞生成因子和中性粒细胞特异性趋化因子。IL-17A 与肿瘤坏死因子 α (TNF-α) 协同作用，在炎症期间诱导持续的中性粒细胞募集 (Cua & Tato)。IL-17A 受体在基质细胞（包括 MSC）上的表达水平特别高。IL-17A 可增加成纤维细胞集落形成单位 (CFU-F) 的频率和平均大小，以及骨髓来源 MSC 的增殖。它可增强成骨分化，并抑制脂肪细胞分化和软骨形成（Mojsilović et al.）。

(A) The biological activity of Human Recombinant IL-17A was tested by its ability to produce IL-6 in NIH 3T3 cells. Production of mouse IL6 was measured after 48 hours of culture. The EC50 is defined as the effective concentration of the growth factor at which IL-6 production is at 50% of maximum. The EC50 in the above example is 2.7 ng/mL.
(B) 1 ug of Human Recombinant IL-17A was resolved with SDS-PAGE under reducing (+) and non-reducing (-) conditions and visualized by Coomassie Blue staining. Human Recombinant IL-17A is a homodimer of 15.7 kDa subunits with a predicted total molecular mass of 31.3 kDa.
