白介素6 （IL-6）是一种多效生长因子，在免疫调节、造血和肿瘤发生等人方面具有广泛的生物活性。IL-6由多种细胞类型产生，包括T细胞、B细胞、单核细胞和巨噬细胞、成纤维细胞、肝细胞、血管内皮细胞和各种肿瘤细胞系。IL-6单独或与其他因子如IL-2和干扰素-γ联合作用时，可刺激B细胞、T细胞和杂交瘤细胞的增殖(Nordan et al.; Van Snick et al.; Gauldie et al.; Mihara et al.; Tanaka et al)。与细胞因子如IL-3、GM-CSF和SCF联合使用，IL-6已被证明能促进体外造血祖细胞的增殖和分化。IL-6通过由配体结合IL-6α (CD126)和信号转导gp130亚基组成的细胞表面I型细胞因子受体复合物发出信号。IL-6与其受体系统的结合包括激活JAK/STAT信号通路(Mihara et al.; Peters et al; Tanaka et al.)。

(A) The biological activity of Mouse Recombinant IL-6 was tested by its ability to promote the proliferation of 7TD1 cells. Cell proliferation was measured after 66 hours of culture using a fluorometric assay method. The EC50 is defined as the effective concentration of the growth factor at which cell proliferation is at 50% of maximum. The EC50 in the above example is 2.4 - 3.6 pg/mL.
(B) 1 μg of Mouse Recombinant IL-6 was resolved with SDS-PAGE under reducing (+) and non-reducing (-) conditions and visualized by Coomassie Blue staining. Mouse Recombinant IL-6 has a predicted molecular mass of 21.9 kDa.
