40抗体克隆可与OCT-3/4（又名POU5F1）发生反应。POU5F1是一种转录因子，对小鼠发育过程中内细胞团的形成以及未分化的小鼠和人类胚胎干细胞（ES）和诱导多能干细胞（iPS）的维持至关重要。它在未分化的小鼠和人类ES细胞、iPS细胞以及胚胎生殖细胞（EGCs）中高表达，并在分化过程中表达减少。它常用于评估多个物种的未分化ES细胞、iPS细胞和EGC的标记物。
