表皮生长因子（EGF）的特点是与各种表皮生长因子受体（EGFRs）高亲和力结合，并产生促有丝分裂反应（Carpenter & Cohen）。EGF促进EGFR二聚化，从而激活下游通路，包括PI3K、ERK1/2、JAK/STAT、β-catenin和钙信号。EGF由与肠道相关的唾液腺和布伦纳腺腺分泌，存在于多种体液中，并刺激啮齿动物和新生儿肠道中的细胞增殖和分化（Wright et al.）。中枢神经系统干细胞也会在EGF刺激下增殖（Reynolds & Weiss）。本产品不含动物成分。

(A) The biological activity of Human Recombinant EGF, ACF was tested by its ability to promote the proliferation of BALB/c 3T3 cells. Cell proliferation was measured using a fluorometric assay method. The EC50 is defined as the effective concentration of the growth factor at which cell proliferation is at 50% of maximum. The EC50 in the example above is 0.0459 ng/mL. (B) 1 μg of Human Recombinant EGF, ACF was resolved with SDS-PAGE under reducing (+) and non-reducing (-) conditions and visualized by Coomassie Blue staining.
