白介素2 （IL-2）是一种单体细胞因子，最初被认为T细胞生长因子（Gaffen & Liu）。它与由CD25、CD122和CD132组成的异三聚体受体结合。结合后，它激活依赖JAK3-、STAT5-和AKT的信号通路，从而促进细胞增殖和存活（Ma et al.）。IL-2主要由活化的CD4+和CD8+ T细胞分泌，尽管发现B细胞和树突状细胞也可产生少量IL-2。在胸腺发育过程中，IL-2下调免疫反应以防止自身免疫，同时参与调解CD4+CD25+调节性T细胞（Treg）以及滤泡辅助性T细胞（Tfh）的发育。IL-2也通过抑制Th17分化来控制炎症（Banchereau et al.）。小鼠中敲除IL-2基因会导致自身免疫性溶血性贫血的发生，随后发展为溃疡性结肠炎。在IL-2受体α缺乏的小鼠中也观察到类似的现象（Gaffen & Liu）。

(A) The biological activity of Mouse Recombinant IL-2 was tested by its ability to promote the proliferation of CTLL-2 cells. Cell proliferation was measured after 3 days of culture using a fluorometric assay method. The EC50 is defined as the effective concentration of the protein at which cell proliferation is at 50% of maximum. The EC50 in the example above is 1.12 ng/mL. (B) 1 μg of Mouse Recombinant IL-2 was resolved with SDS-PAGE under reducing (+) and non-reducing (-) conditions and visualized by Coomassie Blue staining. Mouse Recombinant IL-2 has a predicted molecular mass of 17.4 kDa.
